Tenderness Embodiment Peace and Zen
Above is a link to an article in the Deep Times Journal.
Deep Times is a journal offering articles, art, and poetry rooted in the Work That Reconnects, which emphasizes interdependence within ecosystems and societies. It aims to foster life-sustaining, equitable cultures through inspiration drawn from reconnecting with ancestors and future generations, a concept termed “Deep Time” by Joanna Macy.
Clouds
I like that today the clouds in the sky are blue and white. I like that they’re quiet. I like that the blue in the sky is pale. There is an occasional bird song. The trees below the skies are filled with green leaves for this spring day. I often make reference to sunny days in May. I will say things like, “life can’t always be a sunny day in May.” At this moment in my life it is actually a sunny day in May. My emotions come and go and I get to come back to what is present in this moment.
What is present is that I am breathing. Our clouds. Our pale blue skies on our planet against the dark night of space.
The Man In The Mirror Wants to Feel Real Good

I found that when I was without a place, like you walk into a house or an apartment or a room, you say, “This is my place,” I compartmentalized everything into a pause button except staying safe and alive. I am gradually coming out of that place. I don’t quite remember how I found out that Kamala Harris was the Democratic Nominee for president.
This Love
I don’t know that I have experienced what Reverend Mitchell talks about toward the last third of his video, a taste of universal love. I have spent a lot of time in what I call survival mode, and I don’t have judgement about my being there, where I had compartmentalized everything else and honed in on doing ‘the next survival thing.’
