Got Woke?

Spread the love

I asked the universe to let me hate whiteness instead of hating people when they disappoint like clockwork. Since I have been homeless for two years, hating is far too easy and harmful to me, and to me alone.

Yesterday it came to me that the writer of this episode had an inkling of how asleep he was to the truth of racist capitalism in this world. White people have never witnessed whiteness in its entirety. As soon as they rouse form it, they can’t bear to believe it. They lull themselves back to the delusional sleep of whiteness.

Saying things like, “She’s still homeless today and here is why my life of whiteness is real. She is a flawed version of us.” This is easier than looking at the grotesqueness of whiteness supremacy.

I’m sitting here wondering why I’m sharing this. I don’t believe I’ve crossed the great divide to love my enemies. I am still mesmerized by my father’s book of life, my father, the person who laid down the rules on how to survive this culture. He sucked at it.

Warning: Not A Hollywood Ending
